Farmer Jack Tshirt

$25.00

Farmer Jack was a supermarket chain based in Detroit, Michigan. At its peak, it operated more than 100 stores, primarily in metropolitan Detroit. Farmer Jack stores were typically in suburban neighborhoods, usually anchoring strip malls. In addition to offering groceries, each store operated full-service produce, floral, delicatessen, bakery, pharmacy, meat, and seafood departments.  Farmer Jack's was founded by Tom Borman and Sam Burlak in 1966, and over the next several decades grew the chain by acquiring other stores along the way.  In 1989 A&P paid $76 million for the 79 Farmer Jack stores, and by 1994 all A&P stores in metro Detroit had been converted to Farmer Jack stores.  However, around 2002 the chain began losing money which led to employee layoffs and store closures leading up to A&P filing for bankruptcy in December 2010. Farmer Jack may be gone, we now we have Trader Joe.
